Padi advanced Mermaid
Now that you’ve fallen in love with being a mermaid and have mastered your mermaid course skills, its time to take it all one step further. Experience mermaiding in the open water, while refining and improving your mermaid diving skills.
This course takes the skills that you learned in the mermaid course and perfects them for showing off your tail in front of kids and crowds!
Must have PADI Mermaid course completed
With increased attention to partner tricks, bubble rings, and buoyancy, you’ll learn everything to look like you grew up in the water. It won’t be long before you’re enjoying time in your tail and the kids flock to you, so we also work on developing your mermaid persona,
just in time to answer all those questions a twinkly-eyed crowd may have for you.
In the PADI Advanced Mermaid™ course, you'll build on your PADI Mermaid™ certification and apply it to the open water environment. You'll learn the basics of how the open water environment differs from a pool or confined water (larger, deeper, more variable conditions) and be introduced to open water mermaiding techniques. You'll also learn about aquatic life –
what to expect, how it can affect you, and how you avoid harm.
6-10 Hours, 2-3 Days (12 years old up to adult)
Become a mermaid diver with this Advanced Mermaid course! Take the plunge into deeper knowledge development, basic mermaid free diving techniques and exploring the ocean as a mermaid.
Pre-requisite: Ability to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids and float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 minutes and be in good physical health.
MUST have completed the PADI Mermaid course prior to taking this course.

The PADI Advanced Mermaid course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Advanced Mermaid eLearning
- At least two confined water sessions, in which you'll learn to prepare for mermaiding, rescue/problem management skills and the conduct of mermaid dives. You also learn mermaid skills and build upon what you already know.
- Open water sessions in a natural local body of water, or purpose-built site significantly larger than a pool, suited to mermaid diving in which you learn and practice the set-up, conduct and execution of open water mermaid dives, including environmentally friendly mermaid diving techniques.
By passing the course one will be certified as a PADI Advance Mermaid.
